The press conference to present the 31st edition of the Italian Women's Volleyball Super Cup took place on the morning of Friday 23 October, in the Council Hall of the Municipality of Bari. The match will see Savino Del Bene Volley face Prosecco Doc A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano.
The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th at 6:00 PM at the Palaflorio in Bari , where the two teams will compete for the first trophy of the season. On one side, Conegliano, winner of the Serie A1 and the Coppa Italia in the 2025-2026 season; on the other, Savino Del Bene Volley, finalist of the last edition of the Coppa Italia.
The event marks the return to Puglia of an event organized by the Women's Serie A Volleyball League, more than twenty years after the Serie A2 Italian Cup held in Santeramo in Colle.
The conference, moderated by Consuelo Mangifesta, Head of Communications for the Women's Volleyball League, was attended by representatives of the institutions and the volleyball world, as well as representatives of the two finalist teams.
Coach Marco Gaspari and vice-captain Caterina Bosetti spoke for Savino Del Bene Volley, introducing the match and sharing their thoughts on the eve of the event.
Coach Marco Gaspari's statements
"This is our first time ever in the Super Cup, and it shows that the progress we've made in recent years has yielded incredible results. Playing a match against Conegliano is always a huge motivation, because it means playing for something important. We know we'll be facing an opponent accustomed to this type of competition, but we want to continue our growth and try to make life very difficult for Imoco. To do that, we know we need to create an extremely aggressive game, especially in certain areas like defense, because we all know Conegliano's physicality and technical quality."
Statements from vice-captain Caterina Bosetti
"The derby victory against Florence, beyond the joy of the result, has certainly given us a lot of confidence ahead of this important event for us, for the club, and for all our fans. We're coming prepared, both physically and mentally. We know it will be a tough match, because we're facing an opponent who has consistently proven to be at their usual level in recent years and this early season. We want to play our best volleyball, be calm about the match, and play it for what it is: a one-off match, where anything can happen."
